Forgot 2 other issues. You are forced to buy the tall ROPS with the backhoe. The only thing the tall ROPS gives you is 2 in more headroom. Still have the old ROPS on. Nobody has hit their head yet. 60 MMM advertised that it will cut up to 5in. It has been confirmed by the dealer that the mower deck will only raise 3 3/4 in to 4 in max. With the limited height that the deck will raise, I am constantly banging the deck on objects.

Hawk - I have a 4310 and I have similar deck problems but with the 72" MMM. Not enough adjustment so it doesn't raise very much. I've gotten it better, but need to either buy shorter adjustble rods for the rear connection or cut my existing ones. ....

Hawk, I agree with your complaint on the 46 BH, but the cut will be Higher than the deck height. The bottom edge of the Deck itself, sits lower than the blades.
I bought a JD 212 as a mower, got it 1/3 the price of a MMM and knew it was going to be a hassle to swith between BH and deck.
The 1" per minute of piston travel on the main BH cyclinder is way too excessive and I have even called JD. Am not a Happy Camper. ....

Hawk,

This is a quote from Lbrown59 in the 2210 Backhoe thread:

"For safety reasons tractors with back hoes require a taller ROPS than tractors without back hoes.
There have been reports of people being crushed to death between the back hoe and the to short rops."

Anyway, I also bought the Tall ROPS when I got my 46 and did not install it. Well after reading this I have decided I will install the tall ROPS.

Hypernix ....
